Instill Life - a program developed by Okanagan College Business students to help younger students become contributing global citizens. The plan is to produce artwork that is digitized and placed onto greeting cards that can be sold to family or friends. The program then offers resources to locate people in need through an online database [Kiva] and provide microloans to enable them to get back on their feet. The joy of seeing microloans paid back to the online account over the year and the choice to either leave the money to help someone else or to take it back is a creative one. It fosters a way of thinking that can improve our world...and meet provincial learning outcomes, too!
We chose a video to help us learn how to paint local fruits for the artwork on our cards:
February 24 - As of now, each student has uploaded their biography and 2 pictures to the publisher in Penticton. I will now do final proofs before printing. Mrs. Lepsoe's class will do the same. We hope to have it ready this week or early next week.
